Yield & Yeast

A strategical supply-chain incremental. Knead. Price. Automate. Scale the bakery until the kitchen is too small — then run the wholesale desk like a terminal.

No tutorials. No hand-holding. Just metrics, margins, and the quiet satisfaction of a machine that finally runs itself.

The Core Loop

  • Make — Start with a seed ritual. Then bake rolls by hand until the ovens take over.
  • Supply — Buy flour in packs. Watch capacity, recipe efficiency, and (later) drifting €/kg once auto-buy is live.
  • Market — Sell street bread. Unlock a second counter. Craft price against demand — or let auto-sell work both channels.
  • Automate — Ovens, auto-buy, auto-sell, bake speed, flour efficiency. Turn clicks into throughput.
  • Outgrow — Hit the Phase 2 door. The bakery board hard-cuts. Your empire continues as a frozen line feeding a new desk.
  • Wholesale — Buy tons. Sell crates. Add a pack line. Commission a factory (A + B → GOODS). Bulk inputs. Delivery + fuel. B2B contracts. Stack plant capacity until the desk feels small again.

This playtest covers Phase 1 (Artisan Bakery) and Phase 2 (Wholesale Desk & Factory) — roughly 1 hour of intended play, ending at DEMO COMPLETE with optional sandbox continue.

Key Features

  • Excel-terminal UI — Dark zinc ops board. Monospace KPIs. Right-angled widgets. Progressive disclosure: the screen starts bare and only grows when you earn it.
  • Solver-balanced economy — Deterministic markets (no RNG flour noise). Soft-lock-resistant pacing tuned for idle/incremental fans who like real pricing decisions.
  • Full local persistence — Auto-saves as you play. Offline catch-up when you return (capped). Export / import save codes (Base64) from Save Data for playtests and device hopping.
  • Instant browser load — No install. Open the page and the desk is live.
  • Automation that matters — From one oven to dual markets, factory BOM throughput, auto-pricing, fuel logistics, and contract auto-accept. Idle when you want; micromanage when margins slip.

A Note for Operators

Some desks leave a second interface open.

If you know where browsers keep their quieter tools — you might find a welcome waiting. Power users sometimes prefer to talk to the machine directly.

(Hint: F12.)

Controls & Info

  • Mouse / touch — Click widgets to make, buy, sell, upgrade, and set prices.
  • Browser — Modern Chromium, Firefox, or Safari recommended. Desktop preferred for the full board; playable in-browser on itch.
  • Save — Progress auto-saves locally. Use Save Data in the footer to copy or paste a save string. Reset Progress wipes the run if you want a clean kitchen.
  • Demo scope — Phases 1 & 2 only. Later corporate Acts are still rising in the oven.

Playtest Feedback

This is an active playtest build. Balance notes, soft-locks, confusing UX, and “I wish I could…” ideas are gold.

Leave a comment on this page, or write us at yieldandyeast@gmail.com.

Tell us where you got stuck, what felt too slow / too fast, and which automation unlock made the desk finally click.

Thanks for running the line.
